Heartless Bastards

A conversation with much disliked manager from music store disguising himself as mountain man today...

Manager: "Hi! Can I help you with anything?"

Me: "Uh, yeah. I can't find Heartless Bastards.." I quickly tell The Girl to not go around saying that.

Manager: "Pardon?"

Me: "I was looking in the H section, but they're not there.."

Manager: "Who?"

Me: Big sigh because I know how bad this sounds. "Heartless Bastards. I can't quite remember the name of the album. I think there was something about stairs and elevators or something." (Note: The album's name is Stairs and Elevators. D'oh!)

Manager: "Are you serious?"

Me: "Yes. I'm a bit too old for prank jokes, don't you think?"

Turns out they didn't have them after all. I didn't overlook them as I sometimes tend to do because I'm far too impatient to rifle through everything. But I got Donnie Darko- The Director's Cut, so it's all good.

the heartless bastards album is awesome. do whatever you can to find it. the new kills album--not to be confused with the killers or the thrills or any of the like--is really good too. it's called no wow and should be easier to find. i think it's on a major label.

I was actually looking at that album today, but instead decided that the lure of Jake Gyllenhaal was too much to resist. I should go to Starbucks more often. They have a Jake look-alike. I swear he could pass as his twin. Very nummy.

I went to rent a movie for the first time in a couple years.

They didn't have "The Gods Must be Crazy", so I grabbed "Home on the Range", and everyone had a good laugh.

Not too exciting, I know, but a big event for me.

fej- I know what you mean. I hadn't had a video rental card for so long. I would just buy what I really, really wanted to see or would wait for it to come on cable. This year, I finally broke down and got a card at this little mom and pop place. And I still buy the movies I really, really want to see.

Donnie Darko is a phenomenal movie. I love some of the scenes and extra story the director's cut adds in (he was taking placeboes, the pages of the book, etc).

Pete- It's probably on my top five movies list. Or it would be if I could ever narrow that list down to five movies.
